Mines

Seventeen-year-old victim of terrorism

One of the terrifying facts of mines is that they do not differentiate between adults or children, whether in killing or maiming, as is the case of a young man, Jasir, from the village of Al-Azzawi, which is located in the governorate of Hasakah, south of the city of Al-Shaddadi.

Which suffered from the conflict that took place in the region, where mines were planted in abundance, and the outcome of these mines is the killing or maiming of innocents, thus preventing them from returning to their homes safely.

Among them was Jasser Abd al-Shanashil, 17, who died as a result of one of the traps set during the conflict.

Jasser’s mother says she can’t control the crying.

Jasser doing what he can to support his family and while doing his work in one of the buildings, as he climbed the stairs, he ran over the wires of one of the booby-traps that were planted in the building to destroy any object that approaches it.

“Jasser was taken to a hospital in Deir Ez-Zor, but his wound was severe, and when I got there, he was dead,” said his mother.

Like many people who were wounded and killed, they were unable to return home due to landmines and remnants of war.

When our teams were present to lead awareness actions in the area, they were notified of the incident with Jasser.

Mines

The laying of mines is still going on, and the families are paying the price.

As usual, Hassan Hanoush moved when the morning dawned to buy his daily needs after he placed a kiss on the cheek of his young son, who was ten years old at the time, with a promise to bring him whatever pleased him when he returned at the end of the day, says Hassan’s wife.
